Camila Cabello was photographed walking showing her stomach in a sports bra and leggings while working out. Cabello received hate comments about her “belly” and body shape, but she had no time for haters!
If only more celebrities were transparent and real about body fat and body image. It must be so exhausting trying to be perfect all of the time! I’m not blaming celebrities for wanting to look a certain way, but I just really love how casual and normal Camila acts and speaks when it comes to body fat, cellulite, stretch marks, working out, eating, living life, etc.
After receiving comments about paparazzi pictures taken of Camila circulating on the internet, she shared a Tik Tok to address her thoughts on it. One thing is clear: Camila has no time for body shamers or body haters!
Tik Tok PSA!
In the Tik Tok video captioned with “I luv my body”, Cabello says, “I was just running in the park minding my own business trying to be fit, trying to keep it healthy,” while filming herself in the car. “And I am wearing a top that shows my belly.”
“And I wasn’t tucking it in,” she continued. “‘Cause I was running and existing like a normal person that doesn’t tuck it in all the time.”
“And I was like ‘Damn,’” she says reflecting in her thoughts. “But then I reminded myself being at war with your body is so last season,” Camila said. “I am grateful for this body that lets me do what I need to do. We are real women with curves and cellulite and stretch marks and fat. And we gotta own that, baby.”
While filming the Tik Tok, Camila’s attitude was humorous, casual and unapologetic which I admire very much! It can’t be easy seeing “unflattering” pictures of yourself taken by annoying paparazzi which then circulate online making headlines, while simultaneously having people talk about YOUR body. The fact that Camila doesn’t let these comments or pictures phase her is enviable.
Body positivity and real bodies!
The picture above is one of the shots that was circulating on the internet. Aside from the hateful comments, there were also many positive ones like, “I’m looking at a human being taking a walk comfortably, she’s beautiful. Some people are getting used with seeing plastic bodies mistaken for natural beauty” and “That’s what real bodies look like. People are getting too used to photoshop.”
There is absolutely nothing wrong with her figure! Why do people care to speak poorly about other people’s bodies so much all of the time? I’m here for Camila, and so should everyone! Here’s to spreading more body positivity and normalizing all of the amazing qualities and characteristics we have as humans! Our body does so much for us every day, and we need to embrace our beautiful, unique home.
Of course, it’s always easier said than done, but having a positive attitude usually helps in all aspects of life!
