You must have seen these movies, and if not you should!
In Hollywood, women rarely get a leading role. Sure, in romantic comedies and your typical chick flick there is usually a female protagonist, but what about more serious roles? Don’t get us wrong, we love our chick flicks! But we also want to see women taking on powerful roles that depict women doing more than pining over a man. Women have so much more to offer than just their looks, so why shouldn’t they be taking on roles that showcase their strength, intelligence, and talent? We want role models for our children — strong female lead roles that show representation for the equality of men and women! Women in Hollywood and in the entertainment industry all over the world want to be taken seriously by playing roles that showcase their ability to play different characters instead of being confined to the typical hot girl. We’ve put together a list of our favorite films with a female protagonist for you, which are also based on real events. Enjoy!
