Women We Love is a weekly post where we feature inspiring women who impress us with their content, activism and style. Today we’ll be featuring Katie Sturino and I’ll tell you a little bit about her and why we love her!
Katie is the founder of beauty company, megababe, a brand that makes clean body products for anyone struggling with common things like body odor, thigh rubbing, and boob sweat. megababe aims to remove the stigma around taboo topics regarding body issues and instead, empower people to feel comfortable and confident.

In addition to her beauty brand, Katie is also a fashion influencer and she regularly posts outfit inspiration through pictures and videos that resonate with women, but especially curvy women! Katie is not only a role model for me, but for many others as well! Katie is known for recreating fashion looks through her regularly scheduled #supersizethelook posts where she recreates outfits on a curvier body.
I look forward to seeing her side-by-side collages because she shows how good a curvy body can look in the same outfit that a slimmer body would fit into “better” according to outdated societal beauty standards. Oftentimes curvy people are told that they should dress a certain way to cover up “flaws” or imperfections, but why should they?
Stylish and funny videos
I enjoy watching her videos on Instagram because she debunks the misconceptions and thoughts around bigger bodies and empowers plus-size people to forget about thoughts that may be stopping them from living more freely. Katie’s sense of humor mixed with a killer fashion sense is the ultimate combination! You won’t get bored with her!
For example, in the video above, she shows a variation of plus-size jean shorts on herself. If you read through the comments, you can see how helpful her videos are for people because she’s setting an example of her beautiful, curvy body in jean shorts which curvy people sometimes stay away from.
