Sick and tired of winter boots? We are too! Our favourites under 100 Euros are the best remedy! And some great care tips are just for free!
It’s freezing, impossible to leave home without at least ten layers! But we’re somewhat sick and tired of the onion look! We want to exile our winter boots down to the cellar and take out our favourite sneakers again. In a few weeks, we’ll be celebrating the beginning of spring. Therefore, we’ve been searching for the most beautiful white sneakers for you. And on top, we’ll be giving you some care tips and cleaning solutions, just in case your shoes need a spring cleaning.
White sneakers are true combination allrounders since they match every styling: whether with a boyfriend or skinny jeans, an elegant dress, a casual jumpsuit or a tight pencil skirt. Leisure or work – these shoes fit every occasion.
You need to consider the right care, though. Here, you’ll find helpful tips to keep your shoes clean as a whistle:
1. White Toothpaste
Take some white toothpaste and a cheap toothbrush, wet the brush. Give a small amount of paste on the brush and scrub your shoe with it. It’s convenient for cleaning rubber tips, rims and fine grooves.
2. Dishwashing Liquid
Grandma’s all-purpose remedy helps here as well. Just wash up dirty rubber rims and soles with lukewarm water, dishwashing liquid and a soft cloth. Dirt and grease get washed off easily.
3. Stain Remover
This home remedy is the best way of whitening shoes which are made of textiles. Stain remover contains abrasive particles and has, therefore, a deep cleansing effect. Apply the remover on a damp sponge and clean the shoe with the emerging foam in circular motion yet without much pressure. For very delicate materials use baby powder and water instead. After cleaning wipe with a damp cloth.
4. Erasure
You’ve got black streaks on white rubber? That’s the solution: dirt erasers from the drugstore. Black stains disappear instantly. It’s ideal for all kinds of dark streaks and stains. If the erasure doesn’t work, then refer to tip five.
5. Nail Polish Remover
Important: use acetone-free remover. Nail polish remover makes your chucks’ toe caps look like new. Soak a cotton pad and wipe over the cap. You’re even faster by using remover pads. Works also for residues of glue or the like.
6. Baking Powder
The home remedy from the kitchen is ideal to achieve a light bleaching effect. Mix the baking powder with water and rub the creamy liquid with a cloth on your shoe (never apply on leather). Let it absorb, thereafter, rinse with clear water and wipe dry. Baking powder helps to remove light yellow cast and dark stains.
