In winter, the skin is particularly prone to redness – the weather, stress and your skin care are essential factors. We give you some guidance by providing tips against winter redness.

 

The Right Skin Care

It goes without saying that the right skin care is significant for beautiful skin and may have a positive impact. At worst, water-based skin care may lead to frostbites in winter, therefore you should consider the use of water-in-oil-formulas. They provide the skin with much moisture and protect it more efficiently against environmental influences. You should also apply a rich night care to refill the moisture reservoirs.

 

A Healthy Lifestyle

Redness may be a result of an unhealthy lifestyle. Stress, a high-fat diet, and an excessive alcohol consumption may widen the blood vessels and thereby cause redness. Therefore, you should pay attention to a healthy and balanced lifestyle which has a positive impact on your skin.

Foods rich in antioxidants strengthen the natural skin barrier and may reduce irritations. Go for red berries, lentils, broccoli and nuts to please your skin.

 

Protection Against UV Radiation

The protection against UV radiation is not just an issue in summer but also in winter. Despite clouds, rain, and snow the UV radiation penetrates enormously and may cause skin irritations. Therefore, make sure your skin care or makeup contains a sun protection factor.

 

Redness Relief

In general, you can prevent redness in the long run by combining your skin care with relaxation. Apply a moisturizing facial mask on the weekend and relax with a good book in the tub.
